These Independent Contractor Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the expectations and responsibilities for professional pet groomers (“Contractors”, “you”, “your”) who participate in the Urban Collar network. By applying, accepting assignments, or engaging in any grooming services through The Urban Collar Pet Services, LLC (“The Urban Collar”, “Company”, “we”, “our”), you agree to be bound by the following terms.

1. Independent Contractor Status

1.1 You acknowledge that you are an independent contractor and not an employee, franchisee, partner, or agent of The Urban Collar.

1.2 You are solely responsible for:

i. Your taxes (federal, state, local).

ii. Business registration (if applicable).

iii. Equipment and grooming tools.

iv. Transportation and insurance coverage.

1.3 You are free to set your own availability and accept or decline service requests at your discretion.

2.Eligibility Requirements

To provide services via The Urban Collar, you must:

i. Be 18 years or older.

ii. Possess experience or training in pet grooming.

iii. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and conduct

iv. Pass a background check, if required

v. Have access to reliable transportation (for mobile groomers)

3. Service Standards

You agree to:

i. Provide safe, humane, and high-quality grooming to animals in your care

ii. Be punctual and communicate clearly with clients and admin staff.

iii. Maintain sanitary grooming conditions and tools.

iv. Refrain from smoking, using drugs, or engaging in inappropriate conduct while providing services

v. Notify The Urban Collar immediately in the event of injury, emergency, or client dispute

4. Client Communication & Conduct

4.1 You may only contact clients for appointment purposes using the tools or instructions provided by The Urban Collar.

4.2 You agree not to solicit, accept, or arrange payment outside of the platform, nor advertise personal grooming services to The Urban Collar clients.

4.3 You will treat all clients and pets with kindness, respect, and professionalism at all times.

5. Payments & Compensation

5.1 Compensation will be based on the rate set by The Urban Collar, less platform or commission fees (as outlined in your contractor agreement).

5.2 Payments are processed weekly to your designated account.

5.3 All tips received from clients are yours to keep and are not subject to commission.

6. Account & Availability

6.1 You are responsible for maintaining your availability on the platform and responding to service requests in a timely manner.

6.2 Missed appointments, repeated declines, or no-shows may result in suspension or termination of your access to the platform.

7. Intellectual Property

All logos, client information, training materials, and platform content are the exclusive property of The Urban Collar. You agree not to reproduce, share, or misuse any proprietary materials.

8. Disciplinary Action & Termination

The Urban Collar reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time for:i

i. Violation of this policy

ii. Client complaints

iii. Safety concerns

iv. Misconduct, fraud, or negligence

9. Insurance & Liability

You agree to carry personal or professional liability insurance where applicable and release The Urban Collar from any legal liability associated with your conduct, negligence, or damage arising during grooming services.

10. Amendments

We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes your acceptance of any updates.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Essex County, NJ, in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By participating in the Urban Collar grooming network, you affirm that:

i. You understand and agree to these Terms of Service

ii. You operate independently and are solely responsible for your actions

iii. You will adhere to all safety, conduct, and grooming policies set by The Urban Collar
